When we decide to put in a little hide away at the end of the garden we had a totally different idea in mind. It was supposed to just be a little cottage with one bedroom, a cozy little place for our teenage daughter who wanted a little space for herself but did not want to move out as yet. But by the time it was done it was a tiny house by itself with a living room cum kitchenette and a covered sit at the back going down to the stream that ran through the back of our property.
My daughter wanted to furnish it by herself and we felt it would be a good project for her to do independently. So we gave her a budget and introduced her to The Yardstick who did all the furnishings and window treatments in the main house. We knew that they would be able to help her out and advice her about what would work best. She had a great time choosing the drapes and upholstery and deciding on what kind of window treatment and upholstery design she wanted. Soon her little hide away was finished and we were invited over for dinner.
Of course dinner was takeaway with pizzas and burgers and we ended up paying for it but it was worth it She had done up the place so well and she takes care of her place much better than she ever did her room in the main house.
